Day 17: Lacking enthusiasm

20 01 2010

It’s been a cold, rainy day today and it’s put me in a funk. The scale has been stuck on 151 for a week, I start physical therapy on Friday for my torn rotator cuff and I’m feeling lazy.  It’s a bad sign when it’s 7:15 p.m. and I’m already in my pj’s with no intention of working out tonight. Oh well . . . I’m still doing pretty good sticking to my diet, so at least that’s something. Being hard on myself won’t help and will only discourage me further. It’s way too early in this project to become discouraged. Instead, I’m telling myself that tomorrow is a new day.

What do you when you’re discouraged with your training routine or diet? What helps gives you that kick in the butt to get you going again?

Today’s starting weight: 151

Today’s food journal:

Breakfast:
— Chocolate, banana, peanut butter smoothie (homemade) = 353 cal.

Lunch:
— PB&J sandwich on whole wheat with sugar free fruit spread = 398
— Fat free chocolate pudding cup = 60
— 1 small apple = 77
— Diet Coke = 2

Dinner:
— Salad with ranch dressing = 163
— 1 soft pretzel = 483

I ran across this quote today and it seemed appropriate: “Don’t fear change, embrace it.” – Anthony J. D’Angelo. Tomorrow I embrace change. Like a sign we have hanging in our house: “Nothing changes if nothing changes.”

Thanks for stopping by. See you tomorrow.
