Day 37: “Snow-mageddon!”

9 02 2010

Snow, 2010

Locals are calling it “Snow-mageddon,” “Snow-pocalypse,” and “Snow-a-palooza.” I’m sure there are other terms I’m not aware of yet. We got about 6+ inches of snow during the night and most of the day today. Pretty good for us here in Kentucky. I worked from home today since the roads looked pretty nasty. I’m from Texas originally, so I’m one of those drivers who would rather not be out on the roads on days like today. But at least being in a car is better than on a bike. My friend Dan would probably disagree – whenever it snows, he’s out on his mountain bike riding the trails in one of our local parks. I’ve been enjoying Jill’s blog “Up in Alaska.” I don’t know Jill, but I love the photography, and the great posts on her adventures cycling in Alaska and the surrounding area.

Tomorrow if I end up taking a vacation day instead of going to work, I’ll be on the bike rollers or stationary trainer. I’d say I don’t have a good excuse not to. It’s not like I’m going to ride outside in this mess. Do you ride outside in snowy, icy conditions?
