Day 54: Louisville’s Mad Pups

26 02 2010

I’m frequently impressed with how friendly the Louisville cycling community is. One of the groups I rode with a few times last fall was the Mad Pups. Before the cold weather set in, I had only been on a few of their group rides, but I plan to join them regularly once the weather improves this spring. The people I met were very welcoming and encouraging of newbie cyclists like myself. The group consisted of cyclists of varying ages and skill levels so I didn’t feel out of place. There are quite a few other cycling groups here in Louisville, but I’ve not yet been on any group rides with them. I’ll write more about those groups at a later time.

Do you ride with a group? If so, how many cyclists are in your group? Were they welcoming to newbies? I’m interested to hear about other people’s experiences with group rides.
