Tomorrow night, April 14 at 6:30 the Louisville Bicycle Club will hold a Mayoral Candidate Forum at The Clifton Center, 2117 Payne Street, in the Crescent Hill neighborhood.

This fall, Louisville will elect a new Mayor. Our current mayor, Jerry Abramson, is a cyclist himself and has been very supportive of the cycling community. This forum will give mayoral candidates an opportunity to share their ideas about the future of bicycling in Louisville.

As a community, we need to know where the candidates stand on the issue of cycling as well as other issues. We all have a stake in the upcoming election. Whether you are a newbie cyclist such as myself, or a commuter, a racer or you cycle to improve your health, a full house at tomorrow’s forum will help send a message to our next mayor – cyclists are an important part of this community and we need to let the candidates know that we make our voices heard (and that we vote).

Various local bike clubs will be in attendance and the event is open to the public.

There will be secure bicycle parking at The Clifton Center. There will also be a meet-and-greet session with light refreshments after the forum, to allow the attendees to meet the candidates.
