Day 145: Mayor’s Hike and Bike

28 05 2010

Back in March, I talked about the Mayor’s Hike & Bike event and how much I look forward to it every year. You can read the details in my previous post, so I won’t rehash all the details again tonight, but I’m glad it’s finally time for the big event! The family-friendly ride is this Monday – Memorial Day. Vendor booths open at 9 a.m. The ride starts at 10; the walk at 10:20. Helmets are required.

The bike route starts at Waterfront Park (as usual), then heads down 3rd Street to Iroquios Park and back downtown. The entire loop is about 15 miles. Carrick and I will be doing the entire route, but for those not wanting to ride the whole thing, turnarounds are available. Here is a map of the route.

So bring your bike and join us! We’ll be meeting near the bird sculptures at Witherspoon and Floyd streets, across from Slugger Field.

Today’s food journal: (I was pretty horrible all day today.)

Breakfast:
— Chocolate, peanut butter, banana smoothie = 385 cal.

Lunch:
— Grilled cheese sandwich on whole wheat = 431
— Iced tea = 0

Dinner:
— 3 pieces pepperoni pizza = 1015
— Iced tea = 0

Snack: (because I haven’t ruined my diet enough by this point!)
— Skinny Cow ice cream cup = 120

Life is a journey. Enjoy the ride!
