Day 146: A great day for a Mad Pup ride

I finally got off my butt this morning to do a group ride with the Mad Pups. I did a few rides with them last fall and really enjoyed it, but between rotator cuff problems earlier this year and laziness, I’ve not been on many group rides yet this year.

I’m not a morning person (especially on Saturdays), but I left the house at 8:30 to ride downtown for the start of the ride at 9:00. I met some very nice people and rode most of the way with a nice woman named Linda. It was hot and muggy out this morning, but I’m really glad I did the ride. Round trip was 22 miles and I met some great people that I hope to ride with again soon. I’m going to do my best to make the ride a weekly habit. It was nice to burn off some calories too!

Today’s food journal:

Breakfast:
— Chocolate mint Builder Bar = 270

Lunch:
— 2 scrambled eggs = 92
— Organic LF chocolate milk = 180

Snack (during ride):
— Chocolate Gu = 100
— Vitamin water zero = 0

Dinner:
— Black bean nachos = 544 (est.)

Snack:
— Skinny Cow ice cream cone = 150

Exercise:
— 150 minute bike ride at 12 mph average; 22 miles = 1242 cal. burned
— 2 hours yardwork (weeding) = 497
