Day 160: Bike handlebar as camera grip

12 06 2010

A while back I wrote about the homemade Flip Video handlebar mount that I put on my road bike. I use it frequently on various rides and events. It’s not perfect, but it works for what I need. I did learn that it caused interference with my bike computer (I’m pretty sure I wasn’t riding 86 miles an hour!), so I had to install it on the opposite side of the handlebars from the computer. Once I’m on the bike, it’s a little difficult to see whether or not I’ve clicked the record button, but otherwise it works pretty nicely. And it was free, which is always nice.

Recently, I read about how you can use a bike handlebar as a camera grip for better stability when handling small cameras. I’ve not tried this yet, but it looks like a good idea.

Today’s food journal:

— Chocolate Builder Bar = 270 cal.

— 3 soft tacos with black beans and salsa = 414
— Iced tea = 0

— Salad with ranch dressing = 178
— 1 soft pretzel = 483
— Iced tea = 0

— Skinny Cow ice cream cup (2) = 240

Life’s a journey. Enjoy the ride!
