Day 167: Antique bikes

19 06 2010

Today we went to Joe Ley Antiques, a really cool antique store filled with 2,000 acres of just about everything you can imagine. It’s easy to spend several hours looking around through the three floors of antiques. What makes it even better is the employees allow visitors to take photos of anything that catches your attention. It was a perfect way to spend a couple hours on a hot, summer day. Among some of my favorite finds today were some old bicycles.

I hope each of these cool bikes find a good home.

This one wasn't for sale, but it was awesome.

According to the tag on this one, it's an 1882 Gormully-Jeffrey 48" high-wheeler. I'm not sure it was for sale since the tag said "store display."

I plan to go back to Joe Ley’s again soon to get some detail shots of some of the bikes. There were many more hanging from the ceiling in one room, but I forgot to shoot those.

If you’re in Louisville and have never been to Joe Ley’s, put it on your list of things to do. It’s a great place!

Today’s food journal:

— Chocolate mint Builder Bar = 270 cal.

— Garlic bagel with veggie cream cheese = 427 (est.)
— Diet Coke = 0

— 3 pieces pepperoni pizza = 1015
— Iced tea = 0

— Skinny Cow ice cream cup = 240

Life’s a journey. Enjoy the ride!
