Day 168: Bike-in movie night at Bicycling for Louisville’s theater

20 06 2010

Every other Friday night through the summer months, Bicycling for Louisville provides a free movie and free bike parking. The movies start at 8:00 pm at the Bicycling for Louisville theater in the Clifton neighborhood – 2132 Frankfort Avenue (Bike Couriers Bike Shop). Bike parking is in the front, entrance in the back.

Sounds like a great way to spend a Friday night: snacks, drinks and a free (usually bicycle-themed) movie!

The upcoming schedule includes:

• Friday, July 2: Triplets of Belleville

• Friday, July 16: Il Postino

• Friday, July 30: Beijing Bicycle

• Friday, August 13: E.T. The Extraterrestrial

This morning I got up early and enjoyed a nice long bike ride downtown. The only down side about the ride was getting home hot and sweaty, looking forward to cooling off in the A/C, only to remember as I carried my bike up the the back steps into the house that our A/C went out again last night. Temperatures were in the upper 90s today with a heat index of 105. Yuck. But it was still a nice ride.

Today’s food journal:

— Chocolate mint Builder Bar = 270 cal.

— Whole wheat bagel with Nutella = 449
— Vitamin Water Zero = 0

— BBQ pork sandwich = 360
— French fries = 200
— Iced tea = 0

— Skinny Cow ice cream cup = 120

Life’s a journey. Enjoy the ride!
