Day 219: Rocket Shower body cleaner

10 08 2010

Rocket Shower

I’ve been considering commuting to work on my bike this fall (it’s too hot and humid right now). It’s 10 miles each way so it wouldn’t take me very long and it would be a good workout for the day. My boss lives near work and I mentioned to her one day recently that I was thinking about commuting to work but I was unsure of the safest route to get there and back home. Her husband is a cyclist, and was kind enough to provide me with a good route to and from work that involves riding through parts of both Cherokee and Seneca Park in order to avoid most of the bad traffic. It should be a nice scenic ride. I plan to ride the route one weekend soon to make sure I can make it up the few hills in the parks.

One concern I have though is arriving at work hot and sweaty. I don’t want to be icky all day. I’m sure my co-workers would appreciate it if I didn’t reek all day. Since I work at a hospital (and quite a few other people I’ve seen at work also commute), I may be able to shower in one of the locker rooms for surgical staff, but I keep forgetting to ask my boss about that. (I’m not part of the surgical staff). Anyway, the other day, I ran across a mention of something called “Rocket Shower spray body cleaner.” At first I assumed it was nothing more than a perfumed body spray that would cover up the stink. Not really helpful and not  what I’m looking for. When I read more about it, it sounds like it’s a spray-on product that cleans and cools you off without soap or water. Spray it on and wipe it off. According to the website, it doesn’t cover up odor, but cleans the skin and removes odor-causing bacteria and does not contain a lingering scent. More information is available on their FAQ page

Have any of you used this product before? Does it work? I’d love to hear your feedback.

Today’s food journal:

— Organic LF vanilla yogurt = 4 points

Life’s a journey. Enjoy the ride!
