Day 226: Cannondale offers replacement

17 08 2010

In yesterday’s post, I mentioned my frustration with Cannondale after a pair of their bike shorts I have started falling apart. My frustration stemmed not only from the fact that one of my favorite pairs of shorts are coming unstitched (after minimal use), but also from what seemed to be a dismissive email from their Customer Service department. Well, today I received a nice email from someone else at Cannondale offering to replace the shorts for me:

“Thank you so much for purchasing a pair of our cycling shorts. It’s good to hear how much you like them. I was disappointed to hear about the problem you were having with them. You finally get that favorite pair of shorts that fit just right & are so comfortable to wear, not to mention the price you paid for them and then they start to come apart. It’s very frustrating. The stitching should not have started to unravel. Please let me know what model short you have & what size they are and I will be more then happy to send you a replacement pair.”

Good thing I didn’t cut off the tag in the waistband. I can still read the model and style numbers. Tonight I will email them back, provide the requested information along with my shipping address and wait to see what happens.

I’d like to thank Cannondale for doing right for a loyal customer. Good customer service really does go a long way. I’ll post a follow-up once I receive the replacement pair.
