Day 283: Upcoming local events

13 10 2010

Some good things are going on this weekend that I’m looking forward to:

Saturday, Oct. 16: Bicycling for Louisville’s Shelby Park Pedalers’ Picnic which includes a free bike clinic, bike blender races, a raffle, food and bike polo. Bring some cash to help with food expenses. Come join the fun from Noon to 3 p.m. For questions, call 896-1914.

Saturday, Oct. 16: Cycler’s Cafe Swap Meet. I received an email about this last week I think, but now of course I can’t find it. If I recall correctly, I think it starts at 3 p.m. Bring any bike-related items you’re no longer using and see what other fellow cyclists have to offer. For more information, visit their Web site or call 451-5152.

Sunday, Oct. 17: No Kill Louisville’s Million Mutt March – a rally to help support homeless pets and Louisville’s “No Kill” animal shelter. Registration starts at 9 a.m. $5 includes gift for dog or cat (your choice); $20 donation includes a t-shirt. The event includes speakers, a demonstration by Derby City Disc Dogs, and of course the march. For more information, check out their Web site.
